DevOps Engineer

DevOps Engineer (Manchester) Looking for a DevOps role where you'll genuinely own the platform rather than spend your days firefighting legacy infrastructure?

We're partnering with an innovative technology business that's rebuilding its cloud platform from the ground up using a modern AWS stack. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a clean, containerised environment, shape how it's operated, and play a key role in scaling a high-traffic platform as the business continues to grow.

If you enjoy building reliable, automated cloud infrastructure without the overhead of managing Kubernetes clusters, this could be the role for you.

The Role As the DevOps Engineer, you'll take ownership of the company's AWS platform, ensuring it's secure, scalable, reliable and cost-efficient as it moves into full production.

Working closely with engineering teams, you'll drive automation, improve deployment pipelines, strengthen observability and ensure the platform performs under high-volume, real-time workloads.

This is a hands-on position with genuine ownership and plenty of opportunity to influence how the platform evolves.

What You'll Be Doing • Owning and operating a modern AWS cloud platform in production

• Managing containerised workloads using ECS Fargate


• Building and improving Infrastructure as Code using Terraform


• Maintaining and enhancing CI/CD pipelines with blue/green deployments and automated rollback


• Driving platform reliability, resilience and scalability


• Developing monitoring, alerting and observability across the environment


• Managing cloud costs and implementing best FinOps practices


• Participating in a small production on-call rota

What We're Looking For You'll ideally have experience owning production cloud environments and enjoy taking responsibility for the stability and performance of critical platforms.

We're particularly interested in engineers with experience across:

• AWS infrastructure and cloud-native services


• Container platforms (ECS/Fargate preferred)


• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code


• CI/CD automation


• High-availability production environments


• Monitoring and observability


• Cloud cost optimisation and governance

Desirable • Multi-region AWS environments

• Chaos Engineering or resilience testing


• Cloud security tooling and posture management
