NRG Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and successful automotive dealership group in Manchester to recruit a Dealership Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a fast-paced dealership environment, providing critical financial support to the senior management team and ensuring the smooth running of the dealership's finance function.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing commercial insight to support business performance.
Key Responsibilities • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Produce profit and loss accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Monitor dealership performance against budget and forecast.
- Analyse key financial and operational KPIs, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee daily accounting activities, including sales, purchase and nominal ledgers.
- Manage cashflow reporting and balance sheet control accounts.
- Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with company policies.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and year-end audit requirements.
- Support departmental managers with financial analysis and performance reporting.
- Liaise with external auditors, manufacturers and key stakeholders where required.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the finance function.
- Previous experience working within the motor trade, automotive or dealership environment is highly desirable.
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems knowledge.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines within a fast-moving commercial environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
