Role Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, trend\-led Babywear Designer to join the Mamas \& Papas design team.

As a Babywear Specialist, you’ll have a strong understanding of our brand, our customer and the role that beautifully considered design plays in creating an emotional connection with parents. You’ll be passionate about babywear and can translate trends, inspiration and customer insight into commercially successful product ranges that feel distinctly Mamas \& Papas.

From concept through to final product, you’ll bring creativity, commercial awareness and a strong understanding of the babywear market to every collection.

Role \& Responsibilities:

• Design and develop multi\-product babywear ranges, from initial concept through to final product.


• Trend direction, translating emerging trends into relevant and commercially successful babywear.


• Develop seasonal colour, print, graphic, fabric and styling direction.


• Create compelling concept and customer stories that bring ranges to life and have a clear emotional connection with the Mamas \& Papas customer.


• Work closely with Buying, Product Development and suppliers to create best\-in\-class product, always keeping the customer at the heart of the design process.


• Develop design concepts that balance brand DNA, innovation, quality, functionality and commercial opportunity.


• Produce clear and accurate factory packs and technical information, working closely with suppliers to ensure the design vision is translated accurately into product.


• Collaborate with suppliers and factories throughout the development process, resolving design challenges and ensuring product meets the required aesthetic and quality standards.


• Support the development of seasonal ranges through design presentations, mood boards, colour palettes, print direction and product concepts.


• Keep abreast of competitor activity, market trends and emerging opportunities within babywear and children's fashion.


• Contribute to a collaborative, creative design culture within the wider Mamas \& Papas team.

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Children's Wear Designer, with strong babywear experience.


• Strong understanding of babywear trends, product, construction and customer needs.


• Excellent knowledge of trend forecasting, colour, fabric and product development.


• Strong understanding of brand\-led design and how to translate a brand vision into product.


• Experience working with suppliers and factories and producing clear factory packs / technical specifications.


• Strong presentation and communication skills.


• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.

• Experience in researching \& leading print \& graphic direction to brief.


• Experience using AI design and creative tools to support the design process.


• International travel for Trend research \& development of product especially to China \& India.
