Haven Connect is recruiting a Design Manager (Fire Protection \& Sprinkler Systems) on behalf of a leading Dublin\-based specialist contractor delivering the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of fire sprinkler and fire suppression systems across residential and commercial projects throughout Ireland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sprinkler designer or fire protection professional to join a growing organisation and take ownership of the design function across multiple live construction projects.
Design Manager – Overview
We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design and coordination of fire protection systems from concept through to project completion.
The successful candidate will oversee sprinkler system design, BIM coordination, hydraulic calculations, project design schedules, and the production of technical drawings and models. Working closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, and clients, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with industry standards.
This role offers a blend of technical design leadership, project coordination, and team management within a growing specialist contractor operating across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Lead the design and coordination of fire protection systems across multiple projects
✔ Produce and review sprinkler system designs using Revit and AutoCAD
✔ Carry out hydraulic calculations and design reviews
✔ Manage internal and external design resources
✔ Coordinate BIM models and perform clash detection reviews
✔ Liaise with project managers, clients, consultants, and site teams
✔ Prepare shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as\-built documentation
✔ Attend technical and project coordination meetings
✔ Manage project design schedules and workflow delivery
✔ Ensure compliance with LPC, NFPA, FM, BS9251, and IS EN 12845 standards
✔ Support technical submissions and equipment selection
Ideal Profile
Essential
✔ 5\+ years' experience designing fire protection or sprinkler systems
✔ Strong Revit and AutoCAD experience
✔ Experience with BIM modelling and coordination
✔ Knowledge of sprinkler design and hydraulic calculations
✔ Experience managing project workflows and design programmes
✔ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
✔ Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
✔ Full right to live and work in Ireland
Desirable
✔ Experience with HydraCAD, Navisworks, or Canute software
✔ Previous fire protection contractor experience
✔ Previous mechanical contractor experience
✔ Project management experience
✔ Knowledge of Autodesk ACC, Procore, or Zutec
✔ Degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Pay: €80,000\.00\-€85,000\.00 per year
