JMC Recycling Systems is the UK's largest manufacturer of metal recycling equipment, dating back to 1872\. Our machinery range includes Can Balers, Hydraulic Alligator Shears, Engine Crushers and lots more! We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our team.
Description of the role:
At JMC you will be integrated into the existing Design Team. We make improvements to our existing recycling machinery, create one\-off modifications to meet customer specifications, and design new recycling equipment to meet market demand.
You will be tasked with idea generation, 3D modelling, 2D drafting and Bill of Materials creation. We also work on the technical documents for Operator Manuals and CE certification if you would like to get involved with this. We use Solid Edge for CAD and Sage software for our BOM work. You will be trained on both, and we appreciate that most people will be coming in with experience in other software packages.
Hours and Pay:
Normal working hours are 8:30am \- 5:00pm Monday \- Friday.
The successful applicant will start on £32,500 \- 35,000 depending on experience.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for candidates with experience in mechanical design. We are looking for someone with industry experience with CAD software \- preferably Solid Edge, although candidates with experience are also welcomed to apply.
The successful applicants will have:
- Experience designing mechanical machines.
- Experience with CAD software, specifically 3D modelling and 2D drafts.
- Experience creating Engineering Drawings.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products, specifically Word and Excel
- Experience designing Hydro\-mechanical machinery.
- Knowledge of waste metal recycling machinery.
- Experience in finite element analysis (FEA).
- Experience with Solid Edge CAD software.
- Experience with Sage BOM.
The Successful candidates must comply and adhere to laws and regulations covering Health and Safety within the workplace. These will be provided to you and explained during your induction.
