Technical theatre expertise can help bring Wellington College's productions, concerts and events to life across one of the UK's most impressive school campuses.

Wellington College is seeking an experienced and capable Deputy Theatre \& Technical Manager to join our Technical Department.

Set within a stunning 400\-acre estate in Crowthorne, Berkshire, Wellington College is one of the UK's leading independent boarding and day schools. We are a values\-led community where ambition, creativity and collaboration underpin everything we do.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the technical delivery of an ambitious and varied programme of productions, concerts, performances, assemblies, conferences, ceremonies and special events. Working across our performance and event spaces, you will help ensure that sound, lighting, video and stage operations are delivered safely, efficiently and to consistently high professional standards.

Combining hands\-on technical expertise with day\-to\-day coordination responsibilities, you will take a leading role in planning, preparing and delivering technical requirements for productions and live events. You will work closely with colleagues, visiting professionals, academic staff, event organisers and pupils, providing practical guidance and resolving technical challenges in a calm and effective manner. You will also support the Theatre \& Technical Manager and help maintain continuity across the department's busy programme.

The role offers the rewarding opportunity to supervise technical colleagues and help develop pupil technical crews in areas such as sound engineering, lighting and stage management, supporting young people to gain confidence, practical skills and an understanding of professional theatre practice.

The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in technical theatre, live events, venue operations or a comparable environment. You will have broad technical knowledge across sound, lighting, video and stage systems, together with particular expertise in live sound and digital audio. Strong organisational, communication and practical problem\-solving skills will be essential, alongside a thorough commitment to safe working practices.

At Wellington, you will be part of a supportive school community where your work makes a meaningful difference every day. You will collaborate with dedicated colleagues, contribute to exceptional experiences for pupils and visitors, and benefit from opportunities for ongoing professional development.
