Addison Court is a vibrant independent living community consisting of 30 purpose\-built flats designed for residents aged 55 and over. We pride ourselves on maintaining a safe, warm and pleasant environment that allows our residents to live with confidence and maximise their ongoing independence. The Role
We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the House Manager in the day\-to\-day operation of our housing association. This is a rewarding, independent position where your daily efforts directly impact the safety, well\-being and happiness of our residents.
The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to working, excel under minimal supervision, and seamlessly step up to manage responsibilities when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Resident Support: Maintain confidential electronic logs for residents (medical updates, correspondence, next of kin). Act as a supportive, sensitive point of contact to boost residents' independence on a daily basis and, on occasion, during short\-term illnesses or emergencies.
- Family Liaison: Foster positive relationships and open communication channels with residents and where applicable, residents' families.
- Safety \& Compliance: Help manage contracts for the Emergency Call and Fire Alarm systems. Conduct mandatory monthly checks of smoke detectors, building emergency pull\-cords and wearable resident pendants.
- Site Administration: Order approved goods/services, record incoming and outgoing postal logs and update the central call centre with any vital administrative changes.
- Competitive Salary: Part time salary£12,858 to £16,286 pa depending on skills and experience (Full time equivalent to £30,000\-£38,000 pa)
- Work\-Life Balance: Structured, predictable 15\-hour part\-time work week of three days of 5 hours, one to be Fridays. Attend one Trustees' meeting per quarter
- Generous Holiday Package: 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) pro\-rata, plus a loyalty scheme that increases your holiday balance by 1 extra day per year for your first 5 years of service
- Experience: Previous administrative or supervisory experience within a residential care, retirement housing or community care environment is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Comfortable using computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook) to manage confidential information and accurately log administrative/personal/contract records.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with a warm, empathetic manner suited to supporting an older demographic and communicating effectively with families, trustees and contractors.
- Independence: Proven ability to manage your time effectively, follow safety regulations closely and work under minimal direct supervision.
