Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Residential Children’s Care Home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high\-quality care and support to children and young people. This role offers an opportunity to lead a compassionate team, implement care plans, and promote a safe, nurturing environment for vulnerable children. The Deputy Manager will work closely with the management team to uphold regulatory standards and foster a positive organisational culture. Responsibilities
- Assist the Home Manager in the overall management and leadership of the care home, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and organisational policies.
- Supervise and support care staff, fostering a team environment that promotes professional development and high standards of care.
- Oversee the implementation and review of personalised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Ensure medication administration is carried out accurately and safely in accordance with prescribed protocols.
- Monitor daily routines, activities, and behavioural management strategies to promote wellbeing and development.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Liaise with families, social workers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate holistic support for children.
- Lead on safeguarding procedures, ensuring children’s safety is prioritised at all times.
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a care environment such as assisted living, nursing homes, or residential children’s homes.
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential setting is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively whilst maintaining high standards of person\-centred care.
- Excellent organisational skills with an organised approach to managing multiple priorities within a busy environment.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care or management are preferred.
- Commitment to safeguarding principles and promoting positive outcomes for children in your care.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams whilst demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times.
