Deputy General Manager

Job Purpose

The Deputy General Manager supports the General Manager in the overall leadership, management, and commercial success of the hotel. The role is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, driving operational excellence, developing high\-performing teams, and achieving financial and quality objectives. The Deputy General Manager acts as the General Manager in their absence and plays a key role in implementing the hotel's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day\-to\-day operation of all hotel departments, ensuring seamless service delivery.


• Ensure compliance with brand standards, company policies, and statutory regulations.


• Monitor guest satisfaction and implement improvements to enhance the guest experience.


• Support department heads in achieving operational objectives.


• Lead, coach, and motivate departmental managers and supervisors


• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, succession planning, and employee development


• Review daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.


• Identify opportunities to increase revenue while maintaining service standards.


• Ensure consistently high levels of customer service throughout the hotel.


• Resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally.


• Monitor online reviews and guest feedback, implementing service improvements where required.


• Work closely with the Sales \& Revenue teams to maximise occupancy and revenue opportunities.


• Support the implementation of promotional activities and business development initiatives.


• Encourage upselling and cross\-selling throughout the hotel.


• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, fire regulations, food safety standards, GDPR, and licensing requirements.


• Act as Duty Manager as required.


• Assume full responsibility for hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager.

Job Type: Full\-time

Pay: From €48,000\.00 per year
