About the role

At Balfour Beatty, we are proud to be part of the MEH Alliance delivering one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects at Hinkley Point C. We are now looking for a Deputy Discipline Director to take full ownership of the electrical installation strategy and execution across the programme.

This is a critical leadership role, acting as the discipline expert and delivery focal point—ensuring safe, high\-quality and efficient installation aligned to programme targets.

Location: 100% site\-based (Hinkley Point C)
Working Pattern: 5\-day week

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and implement the electrical installation strategy in line with programme objectives

  • Lead the coordination and execution of all electrical installation activities

  • Provide technical assurance through review of design packages and constructability

  • Manage interfaces across Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning

  • Lead and develop high\-performing site teams, supervisors and subcontractors

  • Drive continuous improvement across methods, productivity and systems

  • Oversee resolution of technical queries, NCRs and delivery risks

  • Ensure compliance with nuclear quality, safety and programme requirements

  • Approve installation plans and sequencing

  • Ensure design risks are identified and mitigated early

  • Allocate resources to deliver works safely and efficiently

  • Maintain accurate records to support commissioning and handover

  • Contribute to readiness, progress reporting and risk escalation
Who we're looking for
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline

  • Proven experience leading large\-scale installation activities within a regulated environment

  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing complex delivery teams

  • Excellent stakeholder management across joint venture and client interfaces

  • Chartered or professionally accredited \- desirable

  • Deep understanding of electrical standards, regulations and construction practices

  • Able to gain a security clearance
