Deputy Construction Manager

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Construction Manager to support the successful delivery of a major pharmaceutical project in Copenhagen, Denmark. Working alongside the Construction Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating site activities, driving programme delivery, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with experience in complex life sciences, pharmaceutical, or high\-specification industrial projects.

- Support the Construction Manager in the overall planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
- Assist in leading multidisciplinary construction teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, and CSA (Civil, Structural \& Architectural) package leads.
- Coordinate closely with Safety, Contracts, Quality, and Commissioning teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with GMP requirements, pharmaceutical industry standards, and relevant Danish and international building regulations.
- Develop, monitor, and update detailed construction schedules, coordinating retrofit works to minimise disruption to live operational environments.
- Drive quality assurance and quality control processes, ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and validation requirements.
- Support interface management between client representatives, design teams, contractors, regulatory bodies, and facility operations personnel.
- Proactively identify project risks, constraints, and opportunities, implementing effective mitigation strategies where required.
- Monitor site productivity and progress, escalating issues and supporting timely resolution.
- Prepare and contribute to regular project reporting, including programme status, commercial performance, key risks, and recovery actions.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring all activities are delivered in accordance with project HSE standards.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a construction management or senior site management role on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or highly regulated industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of GMP environments and the unique challenges associated with laboratory and cleanroom construction.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across Mechanical, Electrical, and CSA scopes.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex retrofit projects within live operational facilities.
- Excellent knowledge of construction planning, sequencing, quality management, and contractor coordination.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across international project teams.
- A proactive, solutions\-focused approach with strong organisational and leadership capabilities.
- Fluent English is essential; additional Scandinavian language skills would be advantageous.
