Dental Practice Support Manager - Future Practice Leader
Practice Support Manager / Future Practice Leader
NUYU Dental \& Aesthetics, Cheltenham
Full\-time \| Permanent \| One weekend in four
Competitive salary, dependent on experience
Genuine leadership and career progression opportunity
Ready to take the next step in your dental career?
NUYU Dental \& Aesthetics is a rapidly growing, independently owned private dental practice offering general dentistry, implants, orthodontics, Invisalign and advanced cosmetic treatments from our modern Cheltenham centre.
We are looking for a confident, proactive and highly organised Practice Support Manager to work closely with our directors and help lead the day\-to\-day running and continued development of the practice.
This opportunity would ideally suit a GDC\-registered Dental Nurse with senior or leadership experience who is ready to progress into management. However, we would also welcome applications from candidates with strong dental practice experience and clear leadership potential.
This is a varied, hands\-on position and not a purely desk\-based management role. You will be visible and involved across the practice, supporting the team, improving systems and helping wherever needed to deliver an exceptional experience for our patients.
Working pattern
This is a full\-time, rota\-based position. The role requires working one weekend in four, covering both Saturday and Sunday. When working the weekend rotation, corresponding weekdays will be scheduled as days off so that contracted hours are maintained.
Flexibility is therefore essential.
The role
Working closely with the directors, clinical team and administrative team, you will help support:
\* The smooth day\-to\-day running of the practice
\* Team coordination, rotas and effective use of resources
\* Reception, front\-of\-house and the complete patient journey
\* Dental nursing and clinical support when required, if appropriately qualified
\* Diary management, appointment utilisation and reducing unfilled clinical time
\* Consistent communication and effective handovers between departments
\* Team performance, engagement and professional development
\* Recruitment, onboarding, absence management and other day\-to\-day HR processes
\* Compliance, CQC requirements, audits and high clinical standards
\* Patient feedback, complaints and service recovery
\* Stock, laboratory work and operational systems
\* Implementation of new processes and monitoring that they are followed
\* Business development and the continued growth of the practice
\* Reporting key operational information and identifying areas for improvement
You will be expected to take ownership, follow matters through to completion and help create structure and consistency within a busy and ambitious practice.
About you
You may currently be working as a Lead Dental Nurse, Treatment Coordinator, Assistant Practice Manager, Deputy Practice Manager or in another senior dental role and feel ready for greater responsibility.
The right person will be:
\* Confident, approachable and comfortable leading others
\* Proactive and solutions\-focused
\* Highly organised, reliable and able to prioritise
\* Willing to be hands\-on and support different areas of the practice
\* Calm and professional when managing competing demands
\* Comfortable addressing problems and holding people accountable
\* An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
\* Commercially aware and interested in how a dental practice grows
\* Committed to outstanding patient care and high practice standards
\* Keen to develop their knowledge across all areas of dental practice management
\* Flexible and able to participate fully in the required weekend rotation
Previous leadership or senior\-level experience within dentistry is highly desirable. GDC registration as a Dental Nurse would be a significant advantage, although it is not essential for an exceptional candidate with the right dental experience and leadership ability.
Experience with dental practice software, compliance systems, team management or private dentistry would also be beneficial.
Your future at NUYU
This is more than an assistant management position. We are looking for someone with the potential to become an important long\-term member of NUYU’s leadership team.
For the right person who consistently demonstrates ownership, leadership and results, there will be genuine opportunities to progress into a Practice Manager, Practice Leader or wider group operational role as NUYU continues to grow.
If you are ambitious, enjoy making things work better and want the opportunity to help shape the future of a growing dental business, we would love to hear from you.
