Dental Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our amazing dental practice in York. The successful candidate will support dentists during procedures, provide excellent patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinic activities.

Duties

• Assist dentists during various dental procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilised appropriately.


• Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, offering reassurance, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatments.


• Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.


• Prepare treatment rooms before appointments, including setting up equipment and ensuring cleanliness.


• Support with infection control protocols, including sterilisation of instruments and maintaining hygiene standards.


• Offer post\-treatment advice to patients and answer any questions regarding dental care or follow\-up procedures.


• Manage appointment scheduling efficiently, coordinating with patients and staff to optimise clinic operations.


• Assist with administrative tasks such as updating patient records and processing paperwork as required.

• Prior experience in a dental or healthcare setting is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates.


• Knowledge of patient care principles within a clinical environment.


• Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes.


• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.


• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast\-paced environment.


• Fluency in English is essential for clear communication with patients and staff.
