Defence Solutions Architect

To support our Company’s growth, we are looking for a Defence Solutions Architect to join our Defence Team that will play a key part in the definition and development of complex satellite systems, with focus on dual\-use and military applications, contributing to strategic programs at both national and international level.
You will combine your engineering background in space systems with strategic vision, technical leadership and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will interact closely with customers, partners, press and internal teams, translating complex technical concepts and data into clear, compelling solutions and narratives that support decision\-making and programme success.
The role requires availability to periodic business travel (approximately 25%) in order to support customer interactions, programs execution and representation at key defence and space industry events.

DUTIES
As a Defence Solutions Architect directly reporting to Argotec's Executive Director Defence Business, you will contribute to the conceptualization and development of state\-of\-the\-art spaceborne Defence solutions according to the company vision, strategy, and roadmaps. You will create and present innovative space systems to key clients, internal management and stakeholders.
The activities will include (but are not limited to):
- Trade\-off complex technical solutions, develop mission concepts and architectures, and support complex bid and proposal processes;
- Actively contribute to the definition and evolution of Argotec’s Defence strategy, supporting the identification of new opportunities, capabilities, and market positioning in dual\-use and military domains;
- Collaborate closely with cross\-functional teams, including Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Engineering and R\&D to ensure cohesive product strategies, developments and launches;
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external including customers, partners and institutional entities, acting as a trusted technical and strategic reference;
- Continuously monitor market trends and customer feedback translating insights into actionable inputs to refine and adjust the Defence portfolio and strategy;
- Act as an evangelist for Argotec’s products and solutions, representing its Defence offerings;
- Participate in industry events and engage with customers to build relationships and gather valuable insights;
- Define Defence product and system requirements, assist the planning of product design and support full development lifecycle;
- Support product\-related publications, presentations and contributions at relevant conferences, workshops and defence\-oriented events.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or related fields;
- At least 8 years of experience in Product Management, Systems Engineering, R\&D in new\-space sector;
- Analytical thinking and proactive problem\-solving attitude;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross\-functional teams;
- Proactive and autonomous approach, combined with a strong sense of ownership and accountability;
- Ability to obtain Italian security clearances;
- Ability to translate a strategic vision in concrete projects;
- Excellent written and oral communication in English.
- Solid understanding of New Space products and end\-to\-end solution development cycles, covering the full lifecycle from concept definition and system architecture to market delivery and operational deployment;
- Wide expertise in modern Defence needs and state\-of\-the\-art systems, with focus on space and air domains;
- Strong knowledge of the aerospace industry, particularly in the small satellite (SmallSat) segment, including platforms, subsystems and mission architectures;
- Experience in conducting market research, user research and data analysis;
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast\-paced and dynamic environment, managing complexity and ambiguity while maintaining a high level of technical and strategic rigor;
- Strong adaptability to changing priorities and evolving requirements, with the capability to effectively balance technical depth, business needs and stakeholder expectations;
- Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain long\-term professional relationships with government, civilian, and military stakeholders, acting as a trusted technical and strategic counterpart.
- Established network in the Defense \& Aerospace industry;
- Previous experience in the Defence \& Aerospace sector;
- Knowledge of space standards (CCSDS, ECSS, MIL etc.);
- Strong business acumen and financial awareness;
- Continuous learning attitude and intellectual curiosity, particularly towards emerging Defence, space and dual\-use technologies.
