Scrum Master
Argotec is an Italian aerospace company specializing in the production of small satellite platforms (from Cubesats up to 250kg\-platforms) and innovative products to improve the comfort of space explorers. Thanks to its facilities and know\-how, the company's activities follow the "all in\-house" concept, which includes design, development, integration, qualification, and operational services. At Argotec, we’re not just building satellites; we’re shaping the future of space innovation.
To support our Company's growth, we are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and pragmatic Scrum Master to join our Software Unit, guiding software development teams toward a mature Agile culture, helping them navigate constraints that Scrum alone doesn't anticipate, and guiding others, including less experienced Scrum Masters, in doing the same. We’re looking for someone who understands why each practice exists and can therefore know when and how to flex it without losing its essence.
We foster a collaborative environment where every Argonaut can contribute with their ideas and expertise, create meaningful value together, and transform feedback and mistakes into opportunities for learning and innovation, growing both professionally and personally, as individuals and as a team. DUTIES
As a Scrum Master, you will be the reference point for one or more software development teams, responsible for promoting and protecting an effective Agile way of working adapted to the realities of an aerospace company. You will also act as a mentor and reference figure for junior Scrum Masters within the organization.
Your activities will include (but are not limited to):
- Leading and facilitating all Scrum ceremonies, ensuring their quality and concrete value;
- Helping the teams remove impediments and dependencies that slow them down;
- Helping the teams plan realistically around constraints atypical of standard software Scrum;
- Actively collaborating with Product Owners to maintain a clear, prioritized backlog aligned with mission objectives and technical constraints;
- Managing interfaces with stakeholders and customers who operate according to traditional processes, finding ways to integrate their constraints into the Scrum framework without compromising its effectiveness;
- Mentoring junior Scrum Masters providing guidance, structured feedback, and supporting their growth toward greater autonomy and mastery;
- Fostering communication and collaboration between the Software Unit and other company functions, promoting shared language and rhythm even where Agile culture is not yet widespread;
- Coaching the SW Unit in adopting the best Agile principles: promoting continuous improvement processes, people collaboration and capacity to respond rapidly to change;
- Introducing and reinforcing flow management (Kanban) practices when useful, such as work visualization, WIP limits, explicit policies, and focus on finishing to improve predictability and collaboration.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Social Sciences or proven equivalent experience;
- At least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master, with a track record of operating effectively in complex, cross\-functional environments;
- Analytical mindset and strong problem\-solving skills;
- Recognized Scrum Master certification (PSM I or above, ICP\-ACC); advanced certifications (PSM II, LeSS, PMI\-ACP) are a strong plus;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to facilitate group dynamics and work with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- Deep, well\-internalized mastery of the Scrum framework and the underlying Agile values and principles not as a checklist to follow, but as a mental model to reason from, adapt, and teach;
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with proven ability to support the growth of team members and less experienced Scrum Masters;
- Ability to facilitate difficult conversations and manage complex cross\-team impediments constructively;
- Data\-driven approach and ability to use process metrics to guide decisions and conversations with management;
- Practical knowledge of flow management (Kanban) and key flow metrics, including applying concepts like WIP limits, lead time/cycle time, and throughput to enhance predictability and collaboration without punitive use of metrics.
- Proven ability to apply Scrum effectively in non\-ideal conditions, non\-Agile stakeholders, external dependencies or hybrid delivery models;
- Knowledge of Agile scaling frameworks (LeSS, Nexus) and familiarity with Agile engineering practices (CI/CD, TDD, continuous integration);
- Experience supporting organizations through Agile transformation journeys;
- Excellent written and oral communication in English.
- Opportunity to work with highly motivated colleagues in a very innovative environment.
- Professional training and career development opportunities.
- Flexible working time schedule and a hybrid work policy.
- Monthly "Free\-Day" \- every second Friday: time off to dedicate to your family and/or hobbies.
- A diversified community that organizes extra\-work and fun activities.
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
