Day and Night Care Assistant

Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Day and Night Care Assistants to provide high\-quality support within a care home environment. The role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety around the clock. Duties

• Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support


• Support residents in engaging with daily activities and social interactions


• Follow individualised care plans to meet each resident’s specific needs


• Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to senior staff


• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems


• Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the care environment at all times


• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during your shift


• Facilitate communication between residents, families, and healthcare professionals


• Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals (training provided)


• Support residents with mobility, including driving them to appointments or outings when required

• Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for successful applicants


• Knowledge of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately is advantageous


• Good communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members


• Basic IT skills are beneficial for maintaining accurate records and documentation


• A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs for residents or errands


• Compassionate attitude coupled with excellent communication skills is vital for building trust and rapport with residents and colleagues
