Job Summary:
The Cyber Security Manager is responsible for leading and managing the organisation’s cyber security function, ensuring the protection of systems, networks, and sensitive data from cyber threats. The role involves developing and implementing security strategies, managing risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing security operations. The Cyber Security Manager will work closely with senior leadership and technical teams to maintain a secure and resilient IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the organisation’s cyber security strategy, policies, and procedures in line with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and manage cyber security operations, including monitoring systems, detecting threats, and responding to security incidents.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses, implementing appropriate controls to mitigate identified risks.
- Oversee incident response processes, including investigation, containment, remediation, and reporting of security breaches.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and other applicable frameworks.
- Manage and mentor cyber security staff, including analysts and engineers, supporting their development and performance.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to promote security awareness and best practices across the organisation.
- Evaluate and implement security technologies, including SIEM systems, firewalls, endpoint protection, and identity access management solutions.
- Prepare and present reports on security posture, risks, and incidents to senior management.
- Maintain up\-to\-date knowledge of emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience in cyber security management or a senior cyber security role.
- Strong knowledge of network security, system security, and cloud security principles.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk, respond to incidents, and implement security frameworks.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non\-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional certifications such as CISM or equivalent are desirable.
