The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing same\-day logistics business whilst gaining a nationally recognised Customer Service qualification. No previous logistics experience is required as full training will be provided.
This is a busy, office\-based role where no two days are the same, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast\-paced environment.
Working as part of our Logistics Team, you will learn how to manage customer enquiries, support the delivery process, build relationships with customers and suppliers, and gain valuable experience within a fast\-paced operational environment. With the support of our experienced team, you will develop the skills and knowledge required to progress within the business, with the opportunity to build a long\-term career and develop into a Logistics Coordinator role.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn all aspects of same\-day logistics with the opportunity to develop into a Logistics Coordinator.
- Monitor customer enquiries and ensure they are handled promptly and professionally.
- Handle inbound customer and sales calls, delivering excellent customer service.
- Assist with booking deliveries and allocating work to approved suppliers.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain collection and delivery updates for customers.
- Review delivery paperwork and resolve any documentation queries.
- Follow up quotations and customer enquiries to help convert opportunities into live orders.
- Support the team with outstanding purchase orders and customer queries.
- Update customer records and maintain accurate information within our internal systems.
- Assist with identifying new business opportunities and supporting the Sales Team.
- Help maintain accurate customer and operational information to support reporting.
- Follow up with new customers to obtain feedback and encourage Google reviews.
You don’t need logistics experience, but you do need the right mindset:
- Some previous work experience would be advantageous
- High level of attention to detail and a process\-orientated approach
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Self\-starter with a positive, resilient attitude who can operate well under pressure.
- Able to work in line with our company values and behaviours
- An effective communicator with good written and verbal communication skills
- Be a team player and work effectively in a small team environment.
- Ambitious, eager to learn and looking for a long\-term career opportunity.
- GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications would be an advantage.
- Regular visits from a college assessor, typically on a monthly basis, to review progress and support the apprenticeship
- Practical on\-the\-job training and development provided by the Logistics Team
