Credit Controller
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail\-oriented Credit Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s credit accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong understanding of financial processes and excellent communication skills to contribute to the organisation’s financial health. Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts
- Contact clients via telephone, email, or letter to follow up on overdue payments
- Maintain accurate records of all communication and payment activities using accounting software
- Analyse account data to identify trends or potential issues affecting credit control processes
- Collaborate with the sales and finance teams to resolve billing discrepancies or disputes
- Assist with data entry related to accounts receivable and payable transactions
- Conduct telemarketing activities as needed to promote payment plans or resolve account issues
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations during all credit control activities
- Prepare regular reports on debt collection progress and outstanding balances for management review
- Ability to understand debt escalation including the issuing of CCJ’s where required.
- Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or related financial roles is preferred
- Familiarity with accounting software and data entry procedures is essential
- Experience within financial services or similar industries will be advantageous
- Strong analysis skills to interpret financial data effectively
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for engaging with clients professionally
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to handle telemarketing tasks with tact and professionalism
This is a hybrid role which involves working from the office part of the day and the remainder at home.
