Part Time Credit Controller (Monday to Friday)

Location: Accrington

Hours: 25 per week

Salary: £17,550\.00

Reporting to: Finance Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an organised, proactive and confident Part\-Time Credit Controller to join our finance team within our busy food wholesale business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring invoices are paid within agreed terms and maintaining strong relationships with customers. You will play an important role in maintaining healthy cash flow while providing a professional and friendly service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and ensure payments are received within agreed credit terms.

Monitor outstanding invoices and proactively chase overdue accounts by telephone and email.

Allocate and reconcile customer payments accurately.

Produce and review aged debt reports and identify overdue or high\-risk accounts.

Investigate and resolve customer queries relating to invoices, credits, pricing and payments.

Liaise with the sales, customer service, warehouse and finance teams to resolve account issues.

Process credit notes and account adjustments where required.

Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date customer account records.

Escalate persistent or significant overdue debt to the Finance Manager.

Ensure all credit control procedures are followed consistently.

Assist with other general finance and administrative duties as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in credit control, accounts receivable or a similar finance role.

Confident speaking with customers and professionally chasing outstanding payments.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

Comfortable working to deadlines and managing competing priorities.

Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.

Numerate with a good understanding of basic accounting principles.

Persistent and commercially aware, while maintaining positive customer relationships.

A good communicator with a professional and approachable manner.

Able to work independently and take ownership of their workload.

Comfortable working in a busy, fast\-paced environment.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience within credit control role.

Experience managing high\-volume customer accounts.

Knowledge of credit limits, payment terms and aged debt management.

Experience using accounting systems.
