Cover Supervisor/Teaching Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cover Supervisor/Teaching Assistant to support classroom activities across various educational settings. Duties

• Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and organised activities to maintain a safe and disciplined environment


• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and resource organisation


• Support students with special educational needs, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring they can participate fully in classroom activities


• Provide one\-to\-one or small group tutoring in core subjects such as literacy, numeracy, or creative writing


• Mentor students to develop their social skills, confidence, and independence


• Implement personalised support plans for students requiring additional assistance


• Foster positive behaviour and encourage student engagement through creative and inclusive teaching methods


• Support students with behavioural challenges by applying effective communication and mentoring techniques


• Contribute to the development of customised learning activities that cater to diverse learning styles

Skills

• Experience working with children, including those with special educational needs or disabilities


• Knowledge of working with individuals with autism or other behavioural challenges


• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents


• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs


• Creative writing skills to assist in developing engaging educational content and activities


• Experience in tutoring or mentoring students to improve academic performance and personal development


• Organised and proactive approach to supporting classroom routines and behaviour management


• Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in fostering inclusive education environments
