SCOPE OF WORK:
We are seeking a skilled and detail\-oriented Controls Engineer specializing in the Rockwell Automation / Allen\-Bradley ecosystem to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, programming, simulating, installing, and troubleshooting automated control systems.
The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in Studio 5000 / RSLogix, a strong understanding of industrial networking, and a proven track record of commissioning complex automated machinery safely and efficiently.
DUTIES \& RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and debug PLC ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks using Studio 5000 Logix Designer and RSLogix 500/5000;
- Develop intuitive Human\-Machine Interface (HMI) and SCADA applications using FactoryTalk View ME/SE;
- Configure, integrate, and tune Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and servo systems (e.g., PowerFlex, Kinetix drives);
- Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, P\&IDs, and control panel layouts (AutoCAD Electrical preferred);
- Specify appropriate hardware components, including PLCs, I/O modules, safety relays, sensors, and actuators;
- Architect and configure industrial networks, including EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Modbus;
- Lead the on\-site testing, debugging, and commissioning of new automation lines and capital equipment;
- Perform root\-cause analysis on critical system failures, minimizing production downtime;
- Implement machine safety standards (ISO 13849\-1\) utilizing GuardLogix safety PLCs and safety I/O;
- Provide technical documentation, including functional specifications, testing protocols (FAT/SAT), and user manuals;
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and operations teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- PLC Platforms: Allen\-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, and Micro800\.
- Software Suites: Rockwell Software (Studio 5000, RSLogix 500/5000, FactoryTalk View, RSLinx).
- Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, Managed Switches, and NAT routing.
- Safety Systems: Hands\-on experience with Allen\-Bradley GuardLogix and safety programming.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field (equivalent practical experience will be considered).
- 3–5\+ years of hands\-on controls engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing, packaging, or system integration environment.
