Contracts Manager / Business Development Manager (BDM)
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results\-driven Contracts Manager / Business Development Manager (BDM) with industry experience to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth whilst managing and developing potential of an existing portfolio of clients. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine new business generation with the growth and retention of an existing client portfolio within the FM, estates management, and commercial property sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and win new business opportunities in Grounds Maintenance and FM services
- Managing and developing a portfolio of existing client contracts
- Leading and managing tenders (PQQ, ITT), frameworks, and procurement portals
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract award
- Build relationships with clients, procurement teams, and decision\-makers
- Identifying opportunities for additional works, service enhancements, and new site expansion
- Preparing and submitting commercial proposals, quotations, and bid documents
- Ensuring high standards of contract delivery, customer satisfaction, and service quality
- Supporting clients with ongoing requirements and proactive solutions
- Maintaining a strong pipeline and converting opportunities into revenue growth
- Attend client meetings, site visits, and networking events
- Proven track record in business development within FM, grounds maintenance, winter maintenance or a related sector.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience managing client accounts and developing long\-term relationships
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship\-building skills
- Track record of growing revenue through both new business and existing clients
- Experience using procurement portals and frameworks
- Self\-motivated with a proactive attitude towards achieving targets
- Full UK driving licence
- Team player with a great sense of humour
