Contracts \& Scheduling Executive

*Customer Care \| Service, Calibration and Engineer Co\-ordination*

If you thrive on helping people, bringing order to a busy schedule and seeing a job through from first conversation to successful delivery, you’ll feel at home in our Customer Care team. In this pivotal role, you’ll renew service contracts, prepare quotations, co\-ordinate engineer visits and keep customers confidently informed at every stage.

No two days will be the same. You’ll bring together customer priorities, engineer availability, travel plans and commercial opportunities—using your judgement, initiative and communication skills to make things happen. Along the way, you’ll build trusted relationships, help grow recurring revenue and play a visible part in delivering the service Optimax is known for.

  • What you’ll be doing
· Build lasting customer relationships while winning new service and calibration business and securing contract renewals.

· Create clear, accurate quotations and renewal information, then keep opportunities moving through to a positive outcome.

· Be the friendly, dependable point of contact customers can turn to by phone, email, video call or in person.

· Shape efficient engineer schedules by balancing skills, location, availability, travel and customer needs.

· Work closely with our field engineers, spotting challenges early and helping find practical solutions.

· Arrange hotels and travel so every engineer has a clear, accurate and cost\-effective plan.

· Listen for opportunities to introduce services that will genuinely add value for new and existing customers.

· Co\-ordinate annual service and calibration visits, new equipment installations and technical enquiries.

· Keep records accurate and administration running smoothly, helping the wider team stay one step ahead.

· Use targets and KPIs to celebrate progress, identify opportunities and keep improving.

· Give visiting customers a warm, professional welcome and represent Optimax with energy and care.

· Be a true Customer Champion—taking ownership, communicating clearly and making every interaction count.

You don’t need to know everything about metrology on day one—we’ll give you the training and support to build your knowledge. What matters most is that you enjoy helping customers, stay calm when priorities compete and take pride in following things through. You’ll be equally comfortable picking up the phone and writing a clear email, combining warmth and professionalism with strong organisation, commercial awareness and attention to detail.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and an engaging, confident telephone manner.

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

· High attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately.

· A proactive, practical approach and willingness to take ownership.

· Clear written and verbal communication skills.

· Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

· GCSE English and Mathematics, or equivalent.

*Desirable*

· Experience in customer service, customer operations, telesales or a similar customer\-facing role.

· Experience working to commercial targets or KPIs.

· Experience co\-ordinating field engineers, appointments, logistics or travel.

· A\-levels, a degree or an equivalent vocational qualification.

Pay: £30,000\.00\-£35,000\.00 per year
