Deloitte
Working with the Deloitte Associate (Contractor) Programme means we can offer you the opportunity to work on a variation of industry and client related projects. Our aim is to retain the best talent and so when your project end date nears our team of Talent Community Advisors will be working with you to look at alternative projects within the firm that suit your experience should you wish to continue with Deloitte.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced ETL Developer to lead the data migration strategy, moving books, records and positions out of FIS GMI onto strategic target platforms. Your work will support the seamless transition of Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) including futures and options and Cleared OTC products (interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, repos). You will design and build high\-performance data pipelines that ensure complete accuracy, regulatory compliance and minimal disruption to daily clearing operations.
Key Responsibilities \& Scope
- Legacy System Decoding: Analyze and reverse\-engineer legacy FIS GMI data structures (typically hosted on AS400/DB2/Mainframe environments), including transaction registers, position files, and margin master files
- Data Pipeline Engineering: Architect, develop, and tune enterprise\-grade ETL pipelines (using tools like Informatica, Talend, or modern cloud data engines) to extract, cleanse, and transform derivative lifecycle data
- Product Processing Mapping: Map complex clearing workflows, including trade capture, position allocations, give\-up/give\-in workflows, exchange fee schedules, and margins across 40\+ global exchanges and CCPs
- Cross\-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts, Risk, Product Control, and Operations teams to translate functional specifications into clean, production\-grade ETL code
- Performance Tuning: Optimize massive batch and real\-time streaming data loads (using Autosys, Control\-M, or Kafka) to comfortably fit within tight overnight batch processing windows
- Strong proficiency in Oracle databases, including advanced Oracle development experiences in package, procedure, materialized view
- Strong experience in performance optimization and troubleshooting
- Strong experience in building a large data warehouse, dimensional data models and ETL/ELT
- Advanced knowledge in Oracle system administration
- Excellent data analysis, communication skills and stakeholder management
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Technical Skillset: ETL Tools: Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, SSIS, or cloud\-native ETL/ELT equivalents
- Database \& SQL: Expert\-level SQL/T\-SQL/PL\-SQL, strong experience with Sybase, DB2, Oracle, or modern cloud warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery)
- Scripting \& OS: Unix/Linux Shell scripting, Python
- Scheduling \& Messaging: Autosys, BMC Control\-M, and experience with real\-time event\-streaming platforms like Apache Kafka
- Data Modeling: Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and data lineage mapping
- Desireable: Relevant experience in Financial Services and knowledge of the cleared derivatives lifecycle
- Build robust PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, and fast\-refresh materialized views to execute complex transactional calculations and report aggregations
- Analyze database performance bottlenecks and execution plans to tune slow queries and maintain high\-performance SLAs
- Architect scalable, production\-ready Star/Snowflake schemas alongside comprehensive source\-to\-target mapping sheets tailored for financial data
- Design and deploy automated data pipelines to extract, transform, load, and validate large financial datasets from upstream transactional sources
- Author system administration guides (covering backups and security) and technical design documents that translate complex financial business requirements into database schemas
