At MSC, we're looking for a talented and commercially minded Content Marketing Manager to join our Marketing Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced content professional who can combine strategic thinking with hands\-on content creation to strengthen our brand, support business growth and position MSC as a trusted machine shop specialist in the industry.

Working closely with the Marketing Team, this role is responsible for leading MSC's content strategy and content creation activity across both digital and print channels. A key focus of the role will be the planning, creation and management of content for MSC's external publications, ensuring they deliver relevant industry insight, technical expertise and engaging customer\-focused content that strengthens MSC's position as the Machine Shop specialist.

The role will also develop SEO\-optimised website content, blogs, thought leadership articles, sales enablement materials and communications that support brand awareness, customer engagement and business growth.

Working closely with Marketing, E\-commerce, Category Management, Engineering and suppliers, you'll lead MSC's written voice across multiple channels and act as the internal expert on the tone of voice, content development and brand storytelling.

What Will I Be Doing?

External Publications \& Editorial Content

  • Own the content strategy for on\-time delivery of MSC's external publications, ensuring a consistent pipeline of high\-quality, customer\-focused and technically relevant content.

  • Develop editorial themes and content plans aligned to customer interests, industry trends and business objectives.

  • Collaborate with suppliers, technical and engineering specialists, category teams and sales teams to source and create valuable written content.

  • Produce a blend of thought leadership, technical guidance, customer success stories, industry insights and product\-focused features.

  • Manage content schedules, deadlines and stakeholder contributions to ensure publications are delivered on time and to a consistently high standard.

  • Continuously evolve the publications to strengthen engagement, brand perception and MSC's position as the machine shop specialist.
Content Strategy \& Communications
  • Develop and deliver MSC's content, communications and PR strategy aligned to business objectives, growth plans and brand positioning.

  • Act as the guardian of MSC's tone of voice, ensuring content is engaging, distinctive and aligned with our brand.

  • Manage content calendars and editorial schedules across online and offline channels.

  • Work with the Marketing Manager to develop messaging frameworks and content that can be adapted across campaigns and customer touchpoints.

  • Lead PR content development to support brand awareness, reputation and market visibility.

  • Develop compelling stories around customer success, industry challenges, innovation and MSC expertise.

  • Simplify complex engineering and manufacturing topics into engaging, customer\-focused content.
E\-commerce \& Digital
  • Create, optimise and maintain website content, including content provided by suppliers.

  • Ensure all website content follows SEO best practices and supports organic growth objectives.

  • Review and improve existing content to drive engagement and improve customer experience.

  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing and E\-commerce teams to maximise content performance.

  • Support product launches, seasonal activity, campaigns and promotional initiatives.
Stakeholder \& Supplier Management
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and subject matter experts.

  • Manage multiple briefs, projects and priorities while maintaining a consistently high standard of output.

  • Ensure content is delivered accurately, on time and aligned to business objectives.

  • Proactively engage and communicate with stakeholders, ensuring visibility, alignment and collaboration throughout content planning and delivery.
Planning \& Reporting
  • Monitor content, engagement and communication performance across channels.

  • Use insights and analytics to continually improve content effectiveness and customer engagement.

  • Share recommendations and learnings with stakeholders across the business.

  • Contribute relevant industry\-focused content to monthly and quarterly sales aids, helping support customer conversations and commercial growth.
What Do I Need?

Essential Skills \& Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Content Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related discipline.

  • Degree\-level qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English or a related subject, or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience developing content strategies and thought leadership programmes.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, copywriting and storytelling skills.

  • Experience creating a broad range of content including articles, blogs, case studies, PR, campaigns and thought leadership communications.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working closely with subject matter experts.

  • Excellent understanding of content marketing, SEO, brand positioning, reputation management and digital communications.

  • Experience managing content calendars and multi\-channel content plans.

  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into simple, engaging content.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Commercially minded, customer\-focused and results\-oriented.

  • Excellent communication and relationship\-building skills.

  • Self\-motivated and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

  • Comfortable operating within a fast\-paced B2B environment.
Desirable
  • Experience within the engineering, manufacturing or industrial sector.

  • Experience creating technical content and working with engineering subject matter experts.

  • Knowledge of PR and reputation management.

  • Experience using Google Analytics and content performance reporting tools.

  • Understanding of manufacturing, machining and production environments.
