Content and Marketing Assistant

About the Role

We’re looking for a fun, confident and outgoing Social Media \& Marketing Assistant to help us bring our events to life both online and out in the community.

PERFECT FOR UNIVERSITY OF LANCASHIRE STUDENTS

This is a hands\-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys social media, creating entertaining content and talking to people. You’ll be the face of our brand on the ground, engaging with the public, promoting our events and creating social content that gets people talking, laughing and — most importantly — coming along to our events.

If you’re the kind of person who can confidently approach a stranger, make them smile, think of a funny TikTok or Instagram idea on the spot and isn’t afraid to get involved, this could be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities \- Social Media \& Content

• Create fun, engaging and entertaining content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.


• Come up with creative ideas for reels, videos, stories, photos, interviews and other social content.


• Engage with members of the public to create authentic, entertaining content.


• Appear in social media videos and confidently interact with people on camera.


• Stay up to date with current social media trends, sounds, formats and memes.


• Help grow engagement, followers and awareness of our events.


• Capture content before, during and after events.


• Monitor comments, messages and engagement and help build a positive online community.

Events \& Public Engagement

• Attend events and help create exciting content throughout the day/night.


• Approach members of the public confidently and encourage them to get involved in content.


• Interview guests, attendees and members of the public.


• Represent the brand in a friendly, professional and approachable manner.


• Help generate excitement and buzz around upcoming events.

Marketing \& Promotion

• Hand out leaflets, flyers and promotional materials in busy public areas and around relevant locations.


• Promote upcoming events directly to the public.


• Help organise and support local promotional campaigns.


• Identify opportunities to increase awareness of our events within the local community.


• Assist with other marketing activities and campaigns as required.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Confident — you're comfortable approaching strangers and starting conversations.


• Approachable and friendly — people feel comfortable around you.


• Creative — you're constantly coming up with ideas for content.


• Social\-media savvy — you understand what makes content engaging and shareable.


• Energetic and enthusiastic — you're happy being out and about rather than sitting behind a desk all day.


• Comfortable on camera — and ideally confident directing or appearing in videos.


• A people person — you enjoy chatting, networking and getting others involved.


• Reliable and proactive — you don't need to be told what to do every five minutes.


• Flexible — you're happy working around events, including some evenings and weekends.

Experience \& Skills

Essential:

• Good understanding of social media platforms, particularly Instagram and TikTok.


• Experience creating social media content.


• Excellent communication and people skills.


• Confidence speaking to members of the public.


• A creative and enthusiastic approach to marketing.

Desirable:

• Experience with video creation and editing.


• Experience working in events, hospitality, entertainment or marketing.


• Knowledge of tools such as Canva, CapCut or similar content\-creation software.


• Experience growing social media engagement or audiences.

Most importantly: we're looking for personality. You don't necessarily need years of marketing experience — if you're naturally confident, creative, funny and great with people, we'd love to hear from you.
