Our clinic brings together a multidisciplinary team with expertise in general practice, women’s health, sexual health, infectious diseases and internal medicine. This collaborative model supports coordinated care for patients with complex or overlapping health needs.
As our patient base continues to grow, we are seeing increasing demand for specialist women’s health and gynaecology services. We are therefore seeking an experienced and patient\-focused Consultant Gynaecologist to join CareBridge Medical as an independent contractor.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Gynaecologist who wishes to establish, develop or expand a private outpatient practice within a modern and supportive clinical environment.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide specialist consultations, diagnostic assessments and outpatient procedures while working closely with clinicians in sexual health, infectious diseases, general practice and internal medicine.
The consultant will retain professional clinical autonomy while benefiting from clinic facilities, administrative support, appointment scheduling, online booking pathways, marketing support and opportunities for multidisciplinary referrals.
Clinical sessions can be agreed flexibly and may expand as demand grows.
Scope of Practice
Depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, interests and professional scope of practice, services may include:
- General gynaecology consultations
- Follow\-up consultations and ongoing patient management
- Menstrual disorders and abnormal uterine bleeding
- Menopause and perimenopause care
- Pelvic pain assessment
- Endometriosis assessment and management
- Fibroids and ovarian cyst assessment
- Vulval and vaginal conditions
- Fertility and preconception consultations
- Contraception and family\-planning consultations
- Cervical health assessment
- Assessment and management of abnormal cervical screening results
- Complex HPV\-related assessment and care
- Colposcopy
- Gynaecological ultrasound
- Transvaginal ultrasound
- Endometrial biopsy
- Cervical biopsy
- Vulval and vaginal biopsy
- Insertion and removal of intrauterine devices
- Contraceptive implant insertion and removal
- Minor outpatient gynaecological procedures
- Referral and coordination of hospital or surgical care where required
Multidisciplinary Working

The Consultant Gynaecologist may collaborate with clinicians working in:
- Sexual health
- Infectious diseases

- STI testing and treatment
- HPV\-related care
- Preventative and reproductive healthcare
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Provide safe, evidence\-based and compassionate specialist gynaecological care
- Conduct consultations, examinations and appropriate investigations
- Perform diagnostic and minor outpatient procedures within their scope of practice
- Develop appropriate treatment, referral and follow\-up plans
- Maintain accurate, confidential and timely medical records
- Communicate clearly and sensitively with patients
- Obtain appropriate informed consent for examinations, investigations and procedures
- Work collaboratively with CareBridge Medical’s multidisciplinary clinical team
- Support the development and growth of the clinic’s gynaecology service
- Participate in appropriate internal and external referral pathways
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, infection prevention and clinical governance
- Practise in accordance with all applicable professional, ethical and regulatory standards
- Maintain continuing professional development relevant to the role
Applicants must have:
- A medical qualification recognised in Ireland
- Current registration with the Irish Medical Council
- Registration on the Specialist Division in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Eligibility to work and practise medicine in Ireland
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance for private outpatient practice
- Significant experience in general outpatient gynaecology
- Experience in the assessment and management of common gynaecological conditions
- Excellent clinical judgement and patient\-care skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A compassionate, respectful and patient\-centred approach
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to clinical governance, confidentiality and continuing professional development
The following would be advantageous:
- Colposcopy accreditation or significant colposcopy experience
- Competence in gynaecological ultrasound
- Competence in transvaginal ultrasound
- Experience performing endometrial, cervical, vaginal or vulval biopsies
- Experience performing minor outpatient gynaecological procedures
- Experience in complex HPV\-related care
- Experience in private practice or community\-based medicine
- A special interest in menopause, endometriosis, fertility, pelvic pain, vulval health, contraception or sexual health
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary clinical environment

This position is offered on an independent contractor basis.
The successful consultant will retain professional responsibility and clinical autonomy for the care they provide while working within CareBridge Medical’s agreed clinical governance, credentialing and operational framework.
Clinical sessions, professional fees, revenue arrangements, administrative support and access to clinic facilities will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
The consultant will be responsible for maintaining their own:

- Specialist registration

- Tax and financial obligations
- Compliance with the agreed independent contractor arrangement
