Consultant Clinical Psychologist (CYP)
The Role
The post holder will provide strategic and professional psychological leadership for the development of digitally enabled, psychologically informed approaches within the Obesity Pathway Innovation Programme (OPIP) and associated weight management transformation activity for children, young people and families. This is a predominantly non\-clinical role focused on service redesign, digital innovation and the development of sustainable screening tools, interventions and support resources, which can be delivered through automated systems or by the wider workforce without direct psychology involvement. The post holder will provide expert consultancy to embed psychological and behaviour change principles within service transformation, while contributing to governance, evaluation, workforce development and professional leadership.

What we'll need you to bring
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential criteria as outlined in our person specification:
Qualifications \& Training
- Eligibility for Registration: You must be eligible for Registration as a Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist as per the requirements laid down by the British Psychological Society (BPS). This can be met by:
+ Being granted a statement of equivalence by the BPS for qualifications gained overseas, OR
+ Having attained chartered status via the "grandparenting" route.
- Management \& Leadership: You must have completed specific courses in the theory and practice of management and leadership.
- Specialised Therapies: You must have post\-qualification training in specialised psychological therapies.
- Service Management: Demonstrable experience in the management or co\-ordination of personnel delivering clinical services.
- Strategic Planning: Proven experience in policy design and implementation, and service planning at both a local and national level.
- Professional Issues: A broad understanding of all relevant professional issues.
- Clinical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of major assessment techniques, intervention approaches (including cognitive\-behavioural, systemic, and others), and the application of complex statistical methods for test interpretation and validation.
- Service Context: A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, government policies, and the broader context of service delivery for the service user group.
It would be great if you also have
- Post\-qualification training/CPD in Leadership.
- Experience in a Leadership role within a patient/client group setting.
- The ability to teach and train others using a variety of complex multi\-media materials.
- A range of non\-clinical skills, including computer skills and statistical knowledge.
