Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to oversee the day\-to\-day operations of a utility\-scale solar farm construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site activities, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining health and safety compliance, ensuring programme targets are achieved, and delivering a quality project on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all on\-site construction activities for the solar farm project from mobilisation through to handover.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Oversee site logistics, plant management, material deliveries, and resource allocation.
- Maintain and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental standards in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Monitor progress against the construction programme and report to the Project Manager on key milestones, delays, and mitigation measures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and ensure compliance with technical drawings and specifications.
- Liaise with the client, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and problem resolution.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, permits, toolbox talks, and site diaries.
- Support the commissioning and handover process in collaboration with the electrical and quality teams.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in the construction or renewable energy sector.
- Strong background in civil engineering, electrical infrastructure, or utility\-scale solar farm construction preferred.
- Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certification required.
- Full UK driving licence.
