Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from planning through to completion. In this role, you will coordinate project activities, manage teams and contractors, monitor budgets and schedules, and ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. Your leadership will drive successful project delivery, effective resource management, and continuous improvement across construction operations.
Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and manage construction projects from initial planning and mobilisation through to completion and handover.
- Supervise and coordinate site managers, subcontractors, tradespeople, suppliers, and other project personnel to ensure projects progress efficiently.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and construction programmes to ensure timely and cost\-effective delivery.
- Manage subcontractors and third\-party contractors, including reviewing performance, coordinating works, and ensuring contractual requirements are met.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and profit \& loss, identifying opportunities for cost control, improved productivity, and efficient resource allocation.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, plant, equipment, and services while ensuring they are available when required to maintain project schedules.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with health and safety legislation, building regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies.
- Monitor the quality of construction work and ensure projects are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, contracts, and required industry standards.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, local authorities, and other stakeholders to resolve project issues and maintain effective communication.
- Identify project risks, delays, and potential issues, implementing appropriate corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Prepare and review project reports, progress updates, cost information, and other documentation for management and clients.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance construction processes, productivity, quality, and overall project performance.
- Proven experience in construction project management, with strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, project planning, site operations, subcontractor management, and contract administration.
- Proficiency with construction project management, scheduling, estimating, document management, and ERP software systems.
- Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other third\-party contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements, building regulations, construction standards, and site safety procedures.
- Ability to manage project budgets, monitor costs and profit \& loss, and implement effective cost\-control measures.
- Strong problem\-solving, organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering construction projects within agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards.
Pay: £33,400\.00 per year
