Job Title: Compressed Air Engineer / Trainee Compressed Air Engineer
Contract: Permanent, Full\-Time
Location: Midlands, UK (with national travel)
About the Role
Airmech is a family\-run compressed air engineering company looking for either an experienced Compressed Air Engineer or a mechanically and electrically minded engineer looking to move into the compressed air industry.
We understand that good engineers don't always come from the same background. If you have strong engineering fundamentals, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn, we are prepared to invest in your training and development.
As a Compressed Air Engineer, you will:
- Carry out planned maintenance and servicing of compressors and compressed air systems.
- Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, identify required parts, and complete repairs.
- Work on air dryers, filtration systems, and associated compressed air equipment.
- Complete detailed service reports and communicate findings to the office team.
- Provide recommendations to customers to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Represent Airmech professionally on customer sites.
- You will average approximately 25,000 miles per year driving.
- National travel is expected. One week you may be working in Scotland, the next in London.
- Occasional nights away from home will be required.
- Communication with the office is essential. We are a small team and rely on each other.
- Engineers are expected to follow procedures, maintain standards, and never cut corners.
- You will be trusted to work independently and be accountable for your work.
- Salary of £29,500 \- £44,500 depending on experience.

We would like to hear from:
Experienced Compressed Air Engineers with knowledge of compressors, dryers, filtration, and pipework systems.
OR
Engineers from other industries with strong electrical and mechanical experience who are looking for a new challenge and are willing to learn the compressed air industry.
You should have:
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault\-finding skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good customer\-facing abilities.
- A professional attitude and strong work ethic.
- The ability to work independently.
- A commitment to Health \& Safety standards.
- A full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
Applicants will be expected to supply their own standard hand tools. Specialist tools will be provided by Airmech.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday
This role is based around an 8\-hour working day; however, flexibility is required due to customer requirements and travel commitments. Earlier starts may occasionally be required, with earlier finishes where appropriate.
