I’m working on a fantastic opportunity with an award-winning, tech-enabled UK lender that is continuing to scale and innovate its offering to SMEs. This is a business that blends cutting-edge technology with a genuinely customer-first approach and they’re now looking to appoint a Compliance Manager to play a key role in their next phase of growth.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on, leadership-leaning role where you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, influencing strategy while also remaining close to operations.
You’ll support the Head of Compliance in driving regulatory excellence across the business – with exposure spanning regulatory change, financial crime, governance, and data protection.

You won’t just be “keeping things compliant” - you’ll be shaping how compliance adds value to a high-growth, tech-driven lender.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, translating them into practical business impact
- Support Board-level reporting and policy updates
- Deliver compliance training and act as a key internal advisor
- Run and enhance the Compliance Monitoring Programme (audits, AML, call reviews, etc.)
- Conduct contract reviews, manage supplier due diligence, and oversee key agreements
- Support data protection activity (SARs, DPIAs, data mapping)
- Manage complaints and liaise with the Financial Ombudsman where required
- Act as a key checkpoint for AML, fraud, and lending approvals
- Partner with the business on strategic initiatives, systems, and risk assessments
- Strong compliance background within UK financial services (ideally lending, fintech, or alternative finance)
- Solid understanding of FCA regulation, AML frameworks, GDPR, and ICO guidance
- Confidence working across both advisory and operational compliance
- Experience identifying and mitigating financial crime and fraud risks
- A proactive, detail-driven approach with the ability to influence stakeholders
