Companion / Home Helper - no personal care
Do you have a caring, compassionate nature and would like to make a difference to the quality of life for an older resident in your local community?
Friends Indeed are looking for mature, 'BIG\-hearted' people with life experience who can offer a few hours each week to enable older people to continue to enjoy life in their own homes. Visits are usually 2\-3 hours long and take place between the hours of 9am and 5pm. We offer a lot of practical help and support to our clients but we are also very keen to enhance lives in any way that we can.
Required...
\* Compassionate and patient but practical and unflappable nature,
\* Plenty of common sense and life experience,
*The role does not involve you doing any personal care and there are no uniforms worn.*
You MUST be willing to do the following…
\- Help around the home, light cleaning \& housekeeping
\- Shopping \& running a few errands
\- Getting clients 'out \& about' on walks, to garden centres, cafes, parks etc...
\- Laundry \& changing bedding
\- Cooking/preparing simple meals
\- Companionship \& chats over a cuppa
\- Respite/sitting for family carers
Also, you might be able to offer…
\- Support with reading, games, hobbies \& interests
\- Simple gardening or very basic DIY
\- Help with pet care \& dog walking
\- Basic help with iPads \& computers
You will need a full driving license \& your own clean, reliable car. Also, you must own a reliable smart phone.
