The role:

The post is for a Band 5 Community Psychiatric Nurse within the East Renfrewshire Adult CMHT. The successful applicant will manage their own caseload and provide comprehensive specialist nursing care, including assessment, development and evaluation of individualised care for clients with complex health and social care needs. The role also includes the management and supervision of trained and untrained staff, including students, within the nursing team. The team is part of the wider mental health and recovery service within East Renfrewshire HSCP, described as a friendly, supportive and wellestablished multidisciplinary team.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Full\-time, permanent

Base location \- Barrhead health and care centre

Shift Pattern \- Monday Friday 9 am \-5 pm

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of an individual caseload

  • Management and supervision of trained and untrained staff, including students

  • Delivery of comprehensive specialist nursing care

  • Assessment of patient care needs

  • Development and evaluation of individualised care plans

  • Working with clients who often present with complex health and social care needs

  • Providing leadership to regulated and unregulated professionals
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Skills in providing leadership to a range of professionals

  • Ability to deliver specialist nursing care within a multidisciplinary team

  • Understanding of complex mental health and social care needs
