Purpose:
At Kinetico, we need great people. Therefore, we are looking for a customer focused individual with plumbing knowledge and experience to join our growing team. You will be the face of Kinetico. Whilst previous water treatment experience is valuable, it is not essential.
The Commercial Water Treatment Technician is responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of Kinetico UK’s commercial water treatment systems, ensuring reliable performance \& compliance. Your main priority is our customers and ensuring, we at Kinetico, provide “Exceptional” customer service.
The role focuses on delivering high\-quality field service outcomes, achieving strong first\-time\-fix performance, and maintaining Kinetico’s standards for safety, professionalism, and technical excellence across all commercial customer sites.
Working closely with the Field Operations Manager – Commercial, Technical Support, and Customer Service teams, the technician plays a key role in protecting customer operations, building long\-term relationships, and supporting Kinetico UK’s commercial service growth.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
Field Service Delivery \& Technical Execution
- Carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, and repair of commercial water treatment systems in line with Kinetico standards.
- Diagnose faults efficiently and accurately, applying effective solutions to minimise downtime and repeat visits.
- Complete all jobs safely, professionally, and to agreed quality standards.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with manufacturer guidelines, service procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver a consistently high\-quality customer experience during every site visit.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding work completed, system condition, and next steps.
- Build trusted working relationships with site contacts and stakeholders.
- Escalate customer concerns, risks, or recurring issues through the appropriate internal channels.
- Take ownership of first\-time\-fix performance by preparing effectively for each job, ensuring correct parts, tools, and technical understanding.
- Reduce repeat visits and rework through thorough fault diagnosis and quality workmanship.
- Follow installation and service best practice to ensure long\-term system reliability.
- Maintain a “right first time” mindset across all field activities.
- Work in full compliance with Kinetico UK health \& safety policies, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Identify and report site hazards, unsafe conditions, or non\-compliant installations.
- Ensure accurate completion of service documentation, permits, and customer records.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and professional work environment at all times.
- Use time effectively through efficient job execution and route planning.
- Minimise waste, unnecessary parts usage, and avoidable repeat visits.
- Look after tools, equipment, vehicles, and stock responsibly.
- Support cost control by working efficiently and reporting issues early.
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge of Kinetico products and commercial water treatment systems.
- Participate in technical training, refreshers, and field coaching as required.
- Follow escalation processes for complex technical issues and share learning from the field.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by highlighting recurring faults, product issues, or process gaps

Education
- Technical qualification in plumbing, engineering, mechanical/electrical services, water treatment, or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
- Proven experience working in a field\-based technical service role (commercial environment preferred).
- Experience installing, servicing, or maintaining water treatment, plumbing, HVAC, or similar technical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while following defined service processes and standards.
- Experience working directly with commercial customers on\-site.
- Strong hands\-on technical and fault\-finding capability.
- Ability to follow technical documentation, schematics, and service instructions.
- Comfortable using service/CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and mobile technology.
- Basic understanding of parts usage, service reporting, and stock management.
- Experience in commercial water treatment systems (softeners, filtration, RO, dosing, etc.) (advantageous).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
- Ability to participate in out\-of\-hours or emergency call\-out support when required.
The Commercial Water Treatment Technician is a frontline role within Kinetico UK’s Commercial Service operation. The position plays a critical role in delivering reliable service outcomes, protecting customer operations, and reinforcing Kinetico’s reputation for quality and professionalism.
Working closely with the Field Operations Manager – Commercial, Technical Support, and Customer Service teams, the technician contributes directly to customer satisfaction, first\-time\-fix performance, and long\-term customer retention.
Job Type: Full\-time
Pay: £28,000\.00\-£35,000\.00 per year
