Commercial & Quantity Surveying Manager
Overview
We are seeking a strategic and commercially astute Commercial \& QS Manager to lead our financial operations and project delivery team. In this dual\-function role, you will act as the financial heartbeat of our projects, ensuring the high standards and integrity our clients expect.
The ideal candidate will possess a sharp eye for risk, a talent for high\-level negotiation, and the leadership skills necessary to mentor a growing team of surveyors.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight:
Lead the preparation of project budgets, monthly cost reports (CVRs), and cash flow forecasts.
Contract Management: Review, negotiate, and manage various forms of contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC), ensuring full compliance and risk mitigation.
Subcontractor Management: Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from initial vetting and appointment to managing variations and final account settlements.
Value Engineering: Identify and implement opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors, fostering a culture of accuracy and professional growth.
Executive Reporting: Present detailed commercial updates and risk assessments to the Board and Senior Management.
Requirements:
Experience: 4\+ years in Quantity Surveying, with at least 2 years in a commercial management role.
Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field. MRICS/RICS accreditation is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of construction law, standard forms of contract, and advanced proficiency in Excel and cost\-management software.
Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation tactics, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
