Commercial Litigation Solicitor
A well-established regional law firm is seeking a Commercial Disputes Solicitor to join its growing litigation team in Leeds. This opportunity offers exposure to a varied and high-quality commercial disputes caseload, advising businesses, directors, shareholders and individuals on complex contentious matters.
The team handles a broad range of disputes and is known for taking a strategic, commercially focused approach to resolving issues. Clients range from owner-managed businesses to larger companies across multiple sectors, with the team providing clear, pragmatic advice aimed at achieving the most effective outcome, whether through negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, or formal litigation where necessary.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of commercial litigation matters while working alongside experienced disputes lawyers on more complex and high-value cases. Typical work includes advising on:
- Contract and commercial disputes
- Shareholder and partnership disputes
- Professional negligence claims
- Commercial agent and distribution disputes
- Director and shareholder liability issues
- Contentious insolvency matters
- Intellectual property-related disputes
You will also play a role in supporting the continued growth of the disputes practice, helping to strengthen client relationships and contribute to the team’s expanding reputation in the regional commercial litigation market.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- Experience handling commercial litigation matters
- Strong analytical, advocacy and negotiation skills
- Commercial awareness and the ability to provide pragmatic advice to business clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage matters independently while working collaboratively within a team environment
