Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Internal Commercial Key Account Manager to join our Sales and Customer Experience team. Reporting to the Head of Customer Experience, this business\-critical role will support customer relationship management, commercial activities and the ongoing success of the Business Development function.
Acting as a key point of contact for customers, the successful candidate will be responsible for account management, commercial support, customer retention and identifying opportunities to enhance customer value. The role will also involve managing and developing the Sales Assistants, ensuring the effective coordination of customer activities and supporting the efficient operation of the department while maintaining high levels of customer service and responsiveness.
This position would suit an individual with experience in account management, business development or customer relationship management, combined with strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, proven people management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist in the day\-to\-day operation of the department ensuring that it is trading effectively, and that customers are greeted and helped with their projects and dealing with any orders, complaints and enquiries as appropriate.
- Deputise in the absence of the Head of Customer Experience.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and demonstrate an elevated level of expertise and service to customers.
- Ensure regular business review meetings are scheduled with key customer accounts, minutes are recorded, and actions are completed in a timely manner.
- Process all sales transactions / operations quickly and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and policies, always with employees and customer safety as the uppermost priority.
- Ensure customers are fully supported by effective organisation and prioritisation of day\-to\-day activities.
- Liaise, maintain and build effective relationships with customers by telephone, email or face to face meetings.
- Process RFP documents, draft and issue proposal documents.
- Follow the New Product Introduction Process to ensure onboarding of new clients and products are accepted in line with company and site procedures.
- Implement Project Management Approach when necessary, utilising Wasdell project tools / programs where necessary.
- Ensure that at all times you take care of your health and safety and that of others by complying with Health and Safety obligations, particularly by reporting promptly any defects, risks or potential hazards.
- Managing and growing a portfolio of existing and new customers to take advantage of business opportunities and mitigate competition.
- Assist the Commercial Department to provide excellent customer service to new and existing clientele while driving sales to meet revenue and KPI targets.
- Supporting the BD Team with the collation of data for Sales and Operation meetings.
- Liaising with commercial, technical and production functions within the business unit to advise on future market requirements and trends.
