At CRS, you won’t just be another name on a job sheet. We work closely as a team, you’ll have direct contact with management and support will be available when you need it. We also have bonus schemes in place to recognise engineers who are reliable, take pride in their work and consistently provide a good service to our customers.

You’ll be trusted to manage your own day, while our engineering and office teams support you with technical advice, parts, scheduling and customer communication.

  • £40,000–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience and qualifications

  • Manufacturer\-specific technical training

  • Opportunities to cross\-train across commercial catering gas, electrical and refrigeration work

  • Ongoing technical support and development

  • Genuine opportunities to progress as CRS continues to grow

  • A varied workload across different customers, sites and equipment
Working hours and overtime

The role is based on a 40\-hour working week. Due to the nature of field\-service work, overtime will sometimes be required to meet customer demand or complete an ongoing job. All overtime worked will be paid at the applicable enhanced rate.

There is currently no regular weekend call\-out rota, although occasional weekend work may be required when necessary.

About the role

You will normally travel directly from home to customer sites using your company van. Your work will include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing commercial catering equipment

  • Servicing gas, electrical and mechanical catering appliances

  • Working on equipment including combination ovens, fryers, ranges, grills, dishwashers, warewashing equipment and other commercial kitchen appliances

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance

  • Installing and commissioning new equipment

  • Completing clear electronic job reports using the company iPad

  • Identifying and reporting equipment requiring further repairs or replacement

  • Keeping customers and the CRS office team informed

  • Working safely and following current regulations and company procedures
What we’re looking for
  • Previous experience repairing and servicing commercial catering equipment or working in a closely related field\-service role

  • Good electrical and mechanical fault\-finding skills

  • Confidence working independently and managing a mobile workload

  • A reliable, professional and customer\-focused approach

  • Good communication and reporting skills

  • A full, clean UK driving licence acceptable to our vehicle insurer
Valid commercial catering gas qualifications, including CCCN1 and COMCAT 1, 2, 3 and 5, are strongly preferred. However, we will also consider experienced catering or electrical engineers who do not currently hold all of these qualifications, provided they have the right technical background and are willing to undertake further training.

Refrigeration or F\-Gas experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as opportunities for cross\-training can be provided.

This is a field\-based role covering London, Essex, Kent and surrounding areas. Engineers based in Essex, East London, South\-East London or Kent would be particularly well placed.

If you’re looking for a long\-term position with a growing company where you’ll be trusted, supported and recognised for the work you do, we’d be pleased to hear from you.
