XY Engineering is a precision engineering firm specialising in bespoke workholding, precision machining, and automation. We're looking for a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our team and take ownership of milling work from program to finished part.

The role

You'll be programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines, producing precision components to tight tolerances. Day shift, working from engineering drawings and models on a varied mix of one\-offs and small batches. If you've got an interest in moving into 5\-axis work, there's scope to develop into it — we'll support the right person.

What you'll be doing

• Programming milling work using Fusion 360 (CAM)


• Setting and operating CNC milling machines


• Working from engineering drawings and 3D models


• First\-off inspection and in\-process checking to ensure parts meet spec


• Selecting tooling, workholding, and cutting strategies


• Keeping to deadlines while maintaining quality

• Time\-served or experienced CNC milling background


• Confident programming, setting, and operating


• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD\&T


• Good working knowledge of tooling, speeds/feeds, and materials


• Methodical, quality\-focused, and able to work independently


• Fusion 360 experience an advantage (training available for the right candidate)


• Interest in 5\-axis a bonus, not essential

Pay: £35,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year
