Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (Part\-Time)

Kilbirnie Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to join our friendly and supportive team on a part\-time basis 16\-20 hours per week.

We are a well\-established training practice serving approximately 8,000 patients, offering flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to develop a rewarding and fulfilling role tailored to your interests and expertise. We currently have 4 GP partners, 3 salaried GP’s, an ANP and a pharmacy team employed by the health board who manage acute prescription requests and discharge letters.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the management of long\-term conditions and medication optimisation, including:

• Hypertension reviews and medication titration


• Lipid management and statin prescribing


• Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) management


• Diabetes reviews and optimisation


• Asthma and COPD reviews

There will also be opportunities to undertake and develop services in:

• Contraception reviews


• Pain management


• Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) management


• Targeted prescribing projects


• Other specialist areas aligned with the successful candidate’s interests and skills

About You

You will be:

• A qualified Clinical Pharmacist with the general pharmaceutical council (with a post graduate clinical diploma or equivalent experience)


• An Independent Prescriber


• Passionate about delivering high\-quality patient care


• Confident managing long\-term conditions and medication optimisation


• Keen to develop new skills and services within primary care

Pay banding appropriate to skills and experience

SPPA pension Scheme

Profession GPC fees/indemnity paid by practice
