We are inviting applications from Registered Nurses (Adult, Mental Health, and Learning Disabilities), Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Paramedics to deliver highquality disability assessments for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Without exception, applicants must have current and uptodate clinical practice in Adult healthcare, with evidence of active relevant clinical experience within the last 3 months. Please note: Paediatric or Health Professional qualifications/experience not listed above, will not be considered for this role, in line with DWP set criteria).

You will deliver disability assessments in line with DWP requirements, undertaking remote telephone or video consultations with individuals claiming Personal Independence Payment (PIP). You will assess the functional impact of a wide range of physical, mental, cognitive and sensory conditions, ensuring a fair, consistent and professional service for a vulnerable client group.

Using empathetic, professional and nonjudgemental communication, you will objectively assess the impact of a claimant’s health condition on daily living activities and mobility. You will analyse and critically evaluate all available clinical and supporting evidence, applying sound clinical judgement and reasoning to produce clear, accurate and impartial reports, with welljustified and defensible conclusions that meet DWP contractual, clinical and quality standards.

You will demonstrate uptodate clinical knowledge across a broad range of medical conditions, including those affecting physical health, mental health, intellectual ability and cognitive function, and understand how these can impact an individual’s functional ability.

Proficient IT and typing skills, together with highly developed written and verbal communication skills, are essential. You must be able to engage with claimants sensitively, professionally and without bias at all times.

You will receive up 6\- 8 weeks of structured in person and remote training, supported by our dedicated in\-house training team. Throughout this period, you will progress through a carefully designed learning pathway that promotes both professional and personal development, enhances your clinical reasoning, critical analysis, assessment, and report\-writing skills, and encourages collaborative learning through peer support and mentoring.

Following completion of the initial training programme, you will begin delivering remote telephone assessments from home. We provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and feedback to ensure you feel fully supported in your role.

What we'll need you to bring

• You must hold a valid NMC or HCPC registration and be educated to diploma or degree level. A minimum of one\-year post\-registration experience is required, along with strong clinical knowledge covering a broad range of conditions and disabilities.


• Have an understanding of UK Welfare Legislation and Welfare Reform


• Have excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills


• Have the ability to work in a sensitive manner with respect to diversity and gender, ethnic, culture and philosophical issues with a wide range of individuals.


• Have strong time management abilities


• Have the ability to work effectively under time constraints


• Have proficient IT and typing skills


• Have an awareness of audit processes

Contract, Location and Working Pattern

• Permanent


• Full time


• 36 hours \- Monday\-Tuesday 09:00\-17:00 \- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday\- 09:00\-16:30

This role will be predominantly home\-based. A quiet, confidential, and dedicated workspace is essential. You may also be required to attend the Beckford Street base in Hamilton, for training and service requirements, therefore live no longer than 1 hour travel distance from Hamilton.
