Brantwood Garden School is an innovative specialist provision for children and young people aged 7\-19 with Autism, SEMH needs, high anxiety and complex educational, health and care needs. Set within a unique outdoor learning environment, our pupils learn through practical land and craft\-based activities including textiles, green woodwork, pottery, cooking, blacksmithing, with significant time involved in growing biodynamic produce in the school gardens and looking after the farm animals.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our dedicated team on a fixed\-term contract and help deliver a curriculum that develops confidence, resilience, independence and the skills needed for adulthood and lifelong love of learning.

You will:

· Teach core subjects including English, Mathematics, Science and ICT through a thematic curriculum incorporating practical craft, outdoor learning and land\-based activities.

· Support pupils to develop independence, emotional resilience, executive functioning, communication and interpersonal skills.

· Lead, guide and work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants to ensure pupils receive effective and consistent support.

· Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to annual reviews, EHCP targets and individual learning plans.

· Work closely with therapists, support staff, parents and carers to create holistic and personalised educational pathways.

· Support pupils whose anxiety or additional needs may impact engagement, using positive and therapeutic approaches to behaviour support.

· Contribute to the wider life of the school community, including assemblies, festivals, educational visits and school events.

To be successful in this role you will have:

· Qualified Teaching Status

· Experience of teaching children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including Autism, SEMH needs and complex behavioural or emotional difficulties.

· Knowledge and experience of the National Curriculum framework of assessment

· Excellent communication, organisational and record\-keeping skills

· A strong understanding of child development and learning processes

· High levels of resilience, emotional intelligence, empathy and adaptability and able to work collaboratively within a multi\-disciplinary team.

· Knowledge of Steiner Waldorf Education and Practical Skills Therapeutic Education would be desirable

· Experience of delivering creative, practical or outdoor learning activities is advantageous

Brantwood Garden School is located on the outskirts of Sheffield. In addition to the main campus it includes a smallholding and a theatre/performing arts space. The curriculum at Brantwood includes clay work, jewellery making, felting and weaving, forge work and green woodwork.
