Church Relations Co-ordinator

Remote (UK-wide travel required)
Salary: Up to £28,000 (negotiable) + £6,000 car allowance

Are you experienced in governance, charity, or membership-based organisations and looking for a role where you can genuinely make an impact?

We are recruiting for a Church Relations Co-ordinator to support a network of churches and centres across the UK. This is a highly varied, people-focused role where you will act as a trusted advisor, helping organisations navigate governance, compliance, and operational challenges.

About the Role

This is a remote position offering a high level of autonomy and flexibility, ideal for someone confident managing their own workload and schedule.

You will be the first point of contact for churches, providing guidance on governance, charity compliance, and best practice. The role involves a mix of remote support and regular travel across the UK to attend meetings, AGMs, and provide hands-on support.

Due to the nature of the role, there is an expectation of some evening and weekend work; however, time off in lieu (TOIL) is provided to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for churches, centres, and volunteers

  • Provide guidance on governance, church rules, AGM processes, and charity law

  • Support committees with challenges, including complaints and operational issues

  • Build strong relationships to help churches develop and grow

  • Deliver training to volunteers and committees on governance and compliance

  • Manage and support volunteer Support Officers

  • Assist with charity accounts and reporting requirements

  • Attend meetings and AGMs across the UK as required

  • Maintain accurate records using CRM systems

  • Contribute content for the organisation’s bi-monthly newsletter

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in governance, compliance, charity, or similar environments

  • Confident interpreting policies, rules, and regulatory frameworks

  • Skilled in building relationships and managing sensitive situations

  • Comfortable delivering training or presenting to groups

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently

  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel regularly

Experience in the charity, local government, or membership sectors would be highly beneficial.

Salary & Benefits

  • Up to £28,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)

  • £6,000 car allowance

  • 31 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays and Christmas closure)

  • Pension scheme

  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

  • Mileage and expenses reimbursed

  • Flexible, remote working with autonomy over your schedule

  • TOIL provided to support work-life balance

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a meaningful and autonomous role where you will play a key part in supporting and strengthening a nationwide network. If you enjoy problem-solving, working with people, and making a tangible difference, this role offers both variety and purpose.
