About the Role

As a Children's Residential Team Leader, you'll be responsible for leading shifts, supporting your colleagues and helping to ensure the home consistently delivers high\-quality, child\-focused care.

You'll work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain a positive, well\-organised home where children feel secure, routines are consistent and every member of the team understands their role in achieving positive outcomes.

This is a hands\-on leadership role, combining direct support for young people with coaching, mentoring and operational responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead shifts and oversee the smooth day\-to\-day operation of the home.

  • Support, coach and motivate Residential Support Workers, encouraging high standards of practice.

  • Build positive and meaningful relationships with children and young people through consistent, therapeutic support.

  • Contribute to care planning, risk management and placement reviews.

  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and personal development.

  • Work alongside families, education providers, social workers and other professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.

  • Ensure safeguarding procedures, company policies and Ofsted standards are followed at all times.

  • Complete and review records, reports and documentation to maintain compliance and quality standards.

  • Help create a positive team culture where communication, accountability and continuous improvement are encouraged.
About You

We're looking for someone who leads with empathy, communicates with confidence and enjoys helping others succeed.

*You'll ideally have:*

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification (essential).

  • Previous experience within a children's residential care setting.

  • Experience leading shifts or supervising colleagues within a residential environment.

  • Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.

  • A sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection and Ofsted requirements.

  • The confidence to make decisions while remaining calm under pressure.

  • A full UK driving licence (essential).
