The role
We are looking for an inspiring, motivated and talented Residential Manager to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our homes.

You’ll bring strong experience in residential childcare leadership and a proven ability to deliver high‑quality, child‑centred services. As part of an established, supportive and ambitious leadership team, you’ll help drive our plans to expand and strengthen our residential offer in Kirklees. You will work closely with our Emotional Wellbeing Team, who provide clinical guidance and support the delivery of our PACE model of care (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity \& Empathy). This partnership ensures we continually meet the needs of the young people in our care, while also developing the skills and confidence of the staff team.
You will also collaborate with a wide range of partner agencies—including Social Care, Youth Engagement, Education, Health, Police and HR—to deliver holistic, joined‑up support for children.
As part of this role you will:
- Have Registered Manager qualifying status or be willing to work towards
- Within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children
- Worked for at least one year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent. If you do not currently have a Level 5 diploma, we will support you achieve this
- Knowledge of how to support the physical, psychological and social development of young people
- In\-depth knowledge of Safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Extensive knowledge of the Children’s Home Regulations 2015 and the Ofsted inspection framework
- Experience of working with partner agencies
- Strong commutation skills
- Confidence in managing HR \& performance management
