Chief Cook (C/C) | Carcarrier

Join OSM Thome as Chief Cook on a car carrier trading worldwide. We are looking for an experienced seafarer who can run a safe, clean galley and serve good, healthy meals for an international crew.

• Key responsibilities:


• Plan and prepare daily meals for crew and officers


• Order, receive and store food supplies within budget


• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in galley and provision stores


• Follow shipboard safety and food handling procedures at all times


• Control stock, monitor expiry dates and minimize wastage


• Work closely with Master and officers on menus and special diets


• Requirements:


• Previous experience as Chief Cook at sea, preferably on cargo vessels


• Valid STCW certificates and seafarer medical fitness


• Strong knowledge of international and Asian cuisine


• Good English communication skills


• Ability to work independently, keep the galley organized, and manage stores
