About the role

As a Commercial Strategy Manager for Developing Channels, you will be responsible for designing and delivering the commercial strategy across Express and Online channels (including Whoosh), driving accelerated growth and unlocking new opportunities.

This role sits at the heart of the Commercial function, where you will use data, insight and strong cross\-functional collaboration to shape strategic direction and deliver improved business performance. You will play a key role in ensuring that our customer offer, trading plans and operational initiatives are aligned and delivering against our commercial priorities.

You will also act as the central point of contact for all channel\-related activities, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure clear governance, accountability and delivery of plans.

This is a 12\-month Maternity Cover.

You will be responsible for

  • Follows our Business Code of Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence

  • Design and deliver commercial strategy for Express and Online (including Whoosh)

  • Report and analyse trading performance, internally and externally, of channels (sales, margin, SVP, waste etc.)

  • Run periodic governance with key stakeholders to ensure accountability of plans

  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure customer insights, range, pricing, trade plan and operational projects all deliver for the business

  • First point of contact for all channel related activities
You will need
  • Key commercial skills i.e. Range Management, Supplier Management, Strategic Planning, Financial Acumen, Margin Management

  • Excellent understanding of the ROI retail market

  • Strong communication skills

  • Buying experience with a successful track record of delivering budgeted sales and margin

  • Experienced influencer and negotiator

  • Experience in leading and developing teams
