Excel Tutors is a growing education and tuition organisation providing high\-quality academic support and training to students and learners.
We are looking for an experienced, organised and proactive Centre Operations \& Compliance Manager to take responsibility for the smooth running of our centre and to support the continued growth and development of the organisation.
This is a hands\-on management position for someone who is confident managing people, systems, operations, marketing activity and compliance.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and will be expected to take ownership, identify problems and find practical solutions.
The Role
The Centre Operations \& Compliance Manager will have responsibility across four key areas:
1\. Centre Operations
2\. Compliance \& Safeguarding
3\. Marketing \& Business Growth
4\. IT \& Systems
You will be an important member of the management team and will play a key role in ensuring that the centre operates efficiently, professionally and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Centre Operations
\* Take responsibility for the day\-to\-day running of the centre.
\* Ensure the centre is organised, professional and welcoming for students, parents and staff.
\* Coordinate tutors, administrative staff and other team members.
\* Manage staff rotas, attendance and workloads.
\* Support recruitment, induction and training of staff.
\* Monitor staff performance and address operational issues promptly.
\* Ensure classes, sessions and centre activities run smoothly.
\* Monitor student attendance, enrolment and retention.
\* Deal professionally with parent and student enquiries and complaints.
\* Maintain high standards of customer service.
\* Monitor operational KPIs and prepare regular reports for senior management.
\* Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and profitability.
Compliance \& Safeguarding
\* Take responsibility for maintaining the centre’s compliance systems and records.
\* Ensure company policies and procedures are implemented consistently.
\* Maintain appropriate safeguarding and child\-protection procedures.
\* Support safer recruitment processes and maintain relevant staff documentation.
\* Monitor DBS, training and other required staff records.
\* Maintain health \& safety documentation, risk assessments and incident records.
\* Support preparation for inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
\* Ensure appropriate GDPR and data\-protection procedures are followed.
\* Maintain accurate and confidential student and staff records.
\* Ensure relevant education and training requirements are being followed.
\* Identify compliance risks and escalate issues to senior management.
\* Keep up to date with relevant changes in regulations and guidance.
Marketing \& Business Growth
\* Coordinate the centre’s marketing and promotional activities.
\* Develop ideas to increase student enrolment and retention.
\* Manage local marketing campaigns and community engagement.
\* Coordinate open days, promotional events and student recruitment activities.
\* Support social media and digital marketing activity.
\* Monitor enquiries and conversion rates.
\* Ensure enquiries from prospective parents and students are followed up promptly.
\* Support website and online information updates.
\* Develop relationships with local schools, community organisations and other relevant partners.
\* Monitor marketing performance and recommend improvements.
\* Work with senior management to achieve student recruitment and revenue targets.
IT \& Digital Systems
\* Take day\-to\-day responsibility for the centre’s IT systems and digital operations.
\* Manage computers, printers, Wi\-Fi, software and other office technology.
\* Manage staff user accounts and access permissions.
\* Maintain appropriate control of passwords and system access.
\* Coordinate with external IT providers when specialist support is required.
\* Ensure staff have the systems and equipment required to perform their roles.
\* Troubleshoot basic IT issues and coordinate solutions.
\* Maintain appropriate backups and digital records.
\* Support implementation of new software and digital systems.
\* Ensure appropriate data\-security practices are followed.
Leadership \& Management
\* Lead by example and promote a positive professional culture.
\* Motivate and support staff to achieve high standards.
\* Organise staff meetings and management meetings where appropriate.
\* Provide clear communication across the centre.
\* Work closely with senior management on strategic and operational priorities.
\* Take ownership of problems rather than simply reporting them.
\* Manage multiple priorities effectively.
\* Support new projects, centre openings and business initiatives.
\* Carry out other reasonable duties required to support the organisation.

\* Experience managing websites or social media.
\* Experience managing IT systems or working with external IT providers.
\* Experience using CRM, MIS or student\-management systems.
\* Management or education\-related qualifications.
